BSA A10 - ignition leads and spark plugs?

I have a BSA A10 Goldenflash (1961 originally sold in South Africa) that has been in storage for the last thirty years. Currently putting back together and have no spark. I assume the magneto would have some issues after such a long time, but also I have noted that the ignition leads are shot (one of them does not conduct from end to end).

I have looked through the service parts catalog that I have and the leads are not listed in there. Any ideas where I could purchase new units?

Also require spark plugs to suit. NGK don't list this in their catalogue.

Buy the bits and make them up yourself (Google for suppliers), as for plugs, best ask for recommendations on the multitude of BSA sites, or even "The Green Spark Plug Co" who specialise in old stuff.
I have to say though, that if you think you're going to be able to buy much/any off-the-shelf stuff for an A10 you're probably going to be disappointed. A lot of 'Net-searching and mechanical adaptability is required for any 50+ year old vehicle..

Thanks, but so far parts have been very easy to get!
A box of various parts including seals and rubbers arrived from NZ yesterday.
A complete carby rebuilt kit arrived from UK last week.
So far, the only thing I haven't found off the shelf is the plug leads!
Having the BSA parts catalogue with their part numbers makes finding the items easier than buying parts for my much newer Honda bike!

Checked and it is an iron head, so short reach plug is required.

The most commonly quoted plug to use seems to be: NGK B7HS, I will try that first!

easy download and one of our now departed members swore by them and he was a BSA fanatic.

Also 90 % of the iron head A10 sold in R.S.A. were sold to the police and tended to be lower specs than most of the ones that went to Joe public.
I don't know if they are still going as I left R.S.A. over 20 years ago, but the Cape Town M.C.C. had a lot of paper work on the ex Police bikes in Cape Town and a few of the members had ex BSA A10's they may now even be on the net so maybe worth a search to see if they are about still.
