CL-90 Crankshaft timing sprocket

Well, I removed the timing sprocket from the crank on this bugger and noticed, that there is no marks or anything on it. What am I to do, to place it back on correctly? Line a tip of a tooth with the woodruff key slot? This is odd. Never seen an engine without a mark or key, on the crankshaft timing sprocket.

I don't know what a CL-90 is, but there must be better places to ask about an obscure Jap tiddler than here, I would have thought?
I would be surprised if the Jap designers only used a taper-fit on something as essential as valve timing gear though; that's a method usually reserved for fitting Lucas and BT-H mag sprockets where the timing was varied by a hand control and so absolute precision wasn't a necessity.
Isn't there a Suzy Yahoo Group you could try, or even a "Classic" {cough cough} Jap site?

LMAO!! Don't know what a CL-90 is? Hmmmm Maybe you should have googeled it, before you chimed in here. They are one of the nicest old bikes made.
Unfortunately, I was hoping for a little more help here. It looks like not many people here have even been into a Honda 90 and don't have an answer that's worth while to offer. Oh well.

more like a moped than a large CC vintage bike, though they are collectable most on this site consider Triumph, Norton BSA etc classics, with some of the rarer Japs as classic

Well, I don't think that classic is measured in CC"s but coolness is. However, my questions have been posted in the appropriate forum. This is the Honda forum and I do own a Honda. It is however kinda odd that a simple question has only recieved like 100+ views and not a single intelligent response. Hmmmm. Okay. No biggie. I got the answers I needed through some other sources. Now, if you guys want to see what good forums are like, where people are willing to help out and give good honest helpful answers, then come over to the antique outboard motor club site. They can set a good example.

See, ask in the appropriate place and you may get a worthwhile answer. I did Google it and I've never even seen one before, just it's relative, the vile 90cc Cub thing.
Don't know about "cool" but it just looks like landfill to me, but then what do I know...?

Well, mine very likely could have ended up as land fill. However, I thought that would have been uncool.
