Hi
I am new to the forum and will be needing help from you. Thanks in advance
I just got a 1965 Yamaha YDS 250 given to me by an owner who had it stored in a barn since 1979. It is in pretty decent shape and am cleaning get out a rusty tank as I write. Motor turns easily with good compression. Have polished off some surface rust and it looks good for a 50 year old.... A few paint chips in the gas tank no dents and good badges.
I attached a battery and electrical is all good.
I tried to attach a picture of it but file was too big so would not upload.
From the research I have done so far, a 1965 should be a YDS3 model, but this bike has no autolube but must still have the gas manually mixed (3's are suppose to have the autolube from what I read). So does anyone know my model is? The title says it is a 1965, but doesn't indicate it as a "3". Any ideas out there to help me out in learning more about the bike?
Also, must be a pretty RARE survivor as I can't find another one for sale anywhere on eBay or craigslist.
