Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, just bought this bike, coming back into bikes, last bike was a Norton 99 but that was when I was young also got a Matchless in the process of a rebuild.

Can anyone help with the following:

Primary Chain Adjustment A10 Eng No: CA1010783 Haynes Manual says 1/2" up and down on top row. Am I to assume that this means 1" from the lowest point of the chain to when lifted the highest point seems a hell of a alot

Thanks Oily

I am almost certain that the 1/2" is over all, I know the A65 is 1/4" ( Min 1/8" and MAX 1/4" after adjustment. ) but 1" overall on the A7 A10 I think might end up with the cases being damaged, check to see if any chain tooches or fouls the Primary case, if it does then the 1" over all will be to loose. hope this helps.
