Got in early thsi time .. and put ban right on the Carn ~ He only got about 8-10 up before I cleared him.. As i see it if we get in early and then ban "him" he will get sick of it !!

They're f***ing everywhere!

I banned the usernames, although if they're persistent that wont work for long. Probably deleted 40 posts and 20 users!

Also deleted 'jamewatson' who was posting for the sake of it (adding no value) with links in her signature they were using for SEO purposes on their site, hard to spot but the bastards are sneaky.

Also took the email address, user names and IP address from http://www.stopforumspam.com/ and uploaded these into the banned list!

Yes .. I sat up till 22.00 hrs last night waiting but after the initial ban he did nto return till then .. But if we can maintain a watch and ban every time he lists he will get sick of it too !

We need a way to ban a user name and remove all post buy them in one hit, and if they come back ban their IP at the same time.
we all ahd a go at the bastered last night, when I was banning his user name and then removing his post he was coming back with a new user name and reposting the crap, perhaps we need to vet all new users, say wait 24 hrs before account is activated, that way we have time to check IP's and if its a spammer back just ban the trafic from that IP

In the Administration Control Panal (under 'Manage Users') you can ban a user (by email, IP address, user name etc) and delete all their posts at the same time.

Suspect it might just be admin that can do this though?

Should we have a couple more 'Admin' users?

Well I can put my hand up BUT ~ I am now a plant (Blow-Mould ) operator and I am doing a lot more hours ~ So I can't guarantee my admin presence ~ But I agree best to have admin's on a Wide wide virtual 24 hour access ~ That puts John (NZ) and myself on a same time scale as opposed to your self Doc ( on a 10 hour variance.)
