I have an Triumph engine with the numbers SOS 281252 ILL stamped on the cases. I cannot find what ype or year this motor is, any help?

That isn't a factory number.

A more detailed description of the "Triumph engine" would help? Single cylinder? Twin? Other? Unit engine? Pre-unit engine? CC?

If you can post some clear photos of the engine, that would be better.
