coverting a C15 to 12v

Hi.
I am considering converting my 1961 C15 from 6v to 12v, one forum I looked at suggested that the alternator could be upgraded by simply joining two of the out put wires together! The forum goes on to say that the output wires should be either 3 shades of green or a green/black wire, a green/yellow wire and a white/green wire. However the wires coming from my engine casings are Blue, Brown & Green/yellow. This being the case I have no idea which two wires need to be joined together, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
