Postby flatdog » Mon Mar 28, 2011 1:44 am

I got another question,The bike we are riding has a problem,It will for no reason rev up to 3000 or so and stay that way for 30 seconds,It then idles down and will most of the time shut off.I have rebuilt the carbs already.Any ideas from you guys?????
I also put this in another category by mistake.

check for blocked supply or vacum in tank, also check the fuel flow at the tap, try it on prim, with the pipe of see it petrol runs out with a good flow, if it does put pipe back on and try again with petrol tap on prim, if it cure it then remove tap and clean tank and tap filter, replace and try in normal running possition, if it still does it the chances are the fuel tap is faulty

PS I have locked the other post so all answers should come through this post only

As WW says re petrol supply, plus check the carb idling circuit for blockages. Some of those jets and drillings are minute and easily choked with 40+ years of crap.
