bsa '30's 250cc NOS piston on ebay

Just thought i'd mention - I have listed a NOS BSA type HEPOLITE alloy piston still in it's original packaging. Ref 2725. 63mm +040 oversize. Complete with new old stock rings (only uses TWO - as shown in the image), gudgeon pin, and brass buttons (where the circlips are normally found on later styles of pistons).

In very nice condition, still in original packaging.

Ebay item number 140663978036

According to one source the hepolite catalogue lists this for: 1930 to '34 B1 B2 B3 and B4

As far as I have been able to research, the piston should work for the following pre-war BSA 250cc, OHV singles, plus likely a few side valve BSA's of the era as well.

1937-1939 BSA B21
1937-1938 B22 Empire star
B30-4
1931 - B31-2, B31-3
B32-1
1933-1936 B33-2, B33-3, B35-2, B35-3, B2, and B3 Blue Star, B4 (Blue Star Junior)
B34-2, B34-3
1936 B18

and possibly even the BSA round tank and earliest of the C11's, but not any of the post-war models. I was surprised to hear on a couple forums that many side-valves of the era have been opened up and found to be using these pistons despite not needing valve cut-aways.

Hi Lefty

Thanks for the heads up ~

I have been a big trader and buyer over the past years with EBay ~

I have found a lot of stuff is just unadulterated crap as you too may know ~

But NOS is always pretty safe ~

How about introducing yourself and share what you have _ or plan to put up as I am sure there are a lot of interested peeps on site ~ and I am sure it will be a positive for any buyer to know you are listed on such a site as ours as a positive and straight up trader ~

A Win Win situation ~

BEST Hurry though! ~ as Jan , Dig's better half has finally decided to move on, and the shed/s are slowly being emptied. Most going in job lots to auction/s ~

She just 'scrapped' a hoard of bike chains ~

( After all we could not expect a handicapped woman of mature age to procrastinate over bric-abrac she knows little about ! )

Yeah, I remember ol' Dig had a liking for pre-war BSAs.
Shame she wasn't listing it on the Bay of Fools...I might have got a crack at some of it..
