UCAN charity bike ride

Postby GBC » Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:59 am

Date: Sunday 20th September 2009
Start: Pannanich Wells Hotel, South Deeside Road, Ballater
Finish: Loch Kinord Hotel

The third UCAN charity motorcycle ride will take place this year on Sunday 20th September. Based, as usual, in the stunning Royal Deeside area, the run will start from the Pannanich Wells Hotel, and cover approximately one hundred miles, with free refreshments in the morning, and a pit stop en-route. The route is well sign posted and suitable for all types of bikes from classic British machinery, to the latest cutting edge tourer, the only stipulation being that the riders try and raise some sponsorship money for the North East’s urological cancer charity, UCAN. Organiser Chris Norton says, “The main aim of the day is for everyone to enjoy themselves whilst helping to raise funds for the charity. Each entrant will receive a lapel badge, and we will be awarding trophies for the most money raised, the oldest bike to complete the course, and the youngest rider to finish.” The total amount raised last year was £2500, which will help UCAN to promote awareness of the disease, and provide support for those affected, and their families. Sixty places are available, so for more information and an entry form, contact Chris Norton on 01339 755018 or visit the website at www.ucanbikeride.co.uk as soon as possible.
