HELP! CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THIS BIKE?

Postby straydog2012 » Fri Dec 03, 2010 10:51 am

I have a friend who owns this bike and wants to know what it is:

Can anyone help?

Dunno what the maker's called it, but I'd call it a very desirable project... :209

It's even got a JAP engine, so those parts shouldn't be a problem. Try Googling JAP engines to find a list of users (and there were many, both home and abroad) then Googling the individual makes. Tank shape usually gives it away if you can find pics.

Strange how the frame paint and seat look to be in very good nick though; was it stripped for (unfinished) restoration, maybe?
Lucky bloke, whoever he is.

"My arthritis has gotten so bad I can hardly grip anything, my cataracts seem to get worse every day, I have gout in my right leg and can't bend my knee and I can't hear anything.
But thank God I can still ride

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, this advertisement turned out to be a scam - the people were advertising this bike on craigsliast and gumtree, but beware - they are trying to sell the same bike to people and get them to pay a freight company that is fraudulent, and nothing is ever delivered. The company is called Westward Freight International. There is a warning on Craigslist about this type of scam, using Moneygram, where you pay the company and then they deliver it.

here is a warning page about Global Shipping, the freight company's last name:
http://www.bobbear.co.uk/global-shippin ... y-ltd.html

This is their new website, which has been copied from a genuine company called Westward Freight:
http://www.wfi-group.co.uk/

They have been reported to the bobbear watchdog site. Fortunately, the scam was sussed before any money was sent.

By the way, they were pretending to live in the Shetlands, so that delivery was the only option, even though the advertisements were London-based.
